Elizabeth A. Coulson

Commissioner

Elizabeth Coulson served seven terms as an elected Illinois State Legislator, representing Chicago’s northern suburbs from 1997 to 2011. She received numerous awards for her work on issues impacting health care, education, seniors, children, and the disabled. She taught for 22 years as an Associate Professor and Department Chair at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science in North Chicago. She is currently Chairman of the Board of Directors of the University. After leaving the Legislature, Elizabeth also served on numerous charitable Boards. Elizabeth is an alumna of Wellesley College and has a B.S. in education from the University of Kansas. She holds an Advanced Certificate in Physical Therapy from Northwestern University Medical School, an MBA in Business Administration from Keller Graduate School of Management, and did graduate studies in the School of Public Health at the University of Illinois/ Chicago in Health Policy and Administration.
